Building teams and careers one relationship at a time
Dennis Quartermane is the President of Profound Placement and the driving force behind returning the high touch experience to recruiting! He moved to San Francisco from New Haven, CT encouraged by the age-old advice “Go West, young man!”. It was 2013 and his decade in mortgage banking had awoken a broader desire to work within the economic and labor markets. A study of the business landscape overwhelmingly pointed to San Francisco as the place to be for one seeking a front row seat and excitement.
Dennis draws on his studies of psychology and philosophy at Southern Connecticut State University and his experiences as the owner/operator of a wholesale mortgage firm in his hometown of New Haven. He also utilizes his skills gained moonlighting for the past 19-years shaking ice and pouring smiles as a bartender. His passion for people, social interaction and classic cocktails was born and bred “behind the wood”.
Having mastered networking and negotiating skills from his time in the mortgage business, coupled with being passionate about people and fascinated with the art of communication, the transition into recruiting was a natural fit for Dennis. After cutting his teeth at several local recruiting firms and with encouragement from friends, candidates and clients, Dennis started Profound Placement with the goal of bringing clarity and communication back to the recruiting process.
In his free time, Dennis is a student of Wing Tsun at the oldest practicing martial arts studio in Chinatown, the same vibrant San Francisco neighborhood where he resides. Dennis is a Toastmaster who plans to compete in the “Humorous Speech” category in 2017. People are his true passion and acting as intermediary between job seekers and hiring managers is what gets Dennis up and after it in a big way every day.
